I have family in QLD, and a storage unit I still need to empty out, so it made the most sense to me to combine the trips up to see my family way out in country QLD with a little stopover in the bright lights of Brisbane or the Gold Coast to get laid & paid on my way to & from.
It covers the cost of travel, and breaks up the trip a bit – or at least, that was the plan. It did break up the trip, and my Onlyfans crew got a different view for the shower live-stream.
I arrived at my sisters place refreshed and relaxed, and I genuinely loved the place I stayed in Brisbane so I plan on making it a regular driver reviver for future trips.
This was not my first attempt to organise a bit of banana bending since starting work again. It doesn’t seem like Queensland is that into pre-booking so service providers know whether or not it’s worth the visit. I’ve been up a couple of times & not been very busy, but I’ve at least covered costs. Until now.
With that in mind, after a few attempts to secure deposits for a November tour, I thought I’d just bite the bullet & book a room as I was spending nearly a hotel rooms worth of money just on the advertising, with it stretching out for as long as it had. I booked for one night on speculation that if I was in town, I’d make back the money.
It was a lovely room, just outside of the Brisbane CBD, with a luxurious king sized bed & a massive rainwater head shower. I was very comfy, and I had a great sleep. All by myself, as luck would have it. I remain very pure and virtuous this week, mores the pity.
I had quite a few of expressions of interest before I left, but expressions of interest don’t pay for hotel rooms & travel expenses, and as I’m sure I’ve mentioned, I can’t teleport as of yet so I do have travel costs I have to cover.
Having said that, I’ll still be doing semi – regular trips up the Pacific highway from Lake Mac to South East Queensland – maybe you guys know somewhere more hospitable I could pull in to give you a service? Hit me up if you do – I’m heading back down the coast on Saturday.
I’ll include this little tidbit of info for anyone who isn’t a professional footloose fancy free travelling type – hotels typically check out at 10am & check in at 2pm. If you ask someone who is touring your area for a 1pm booking, it’s much tricker to organise because they have to check in the night before the booking & check out the next morning.
I will admit to rolling my eyes & then checking out when the only serious enquiry I had was for 1pm Thursday – I’d have to have paid for 3 nights accommodation for one confirmed $250 booking. The math wasn’t mathing. The room was more than that for the night – Lady Gaga was in town.
Keeping overheads reasonable is pretty important if you want a sustainable business and that is the goal. I’ve worked my way back up from being unable to take incalls to being able to book a decent hotel for one night on spec & take the loss in my stride, but I’m not at the stage where I can write off much more than that.
I’ll be raiding my storage unit again tomorrow & this time I’ll be unearthing hopefully some of my designer gowns, my perfume collection, my camping gear & tents, my Terry Pratchett collection and whatever else I can cram into the car.
That and seeing my family make the trip worth the time, effort & expense even if I don’t get any bookings, it just seems such an awful waste not to meet up & bounce on each other until we both burst while I’m in town, don’t you think? Plus my stingy-bone is throbbing from paying for an un-fucked-in room, it goes against all of my core values to sleep alone in hotels lol.
